[٣٥٩٦] عبد الله بن طاوس بن كَيْسان، أبو محمد اليماني الحميري (¬١). سمع: أباه، وعِكْرمة بن خالد المَخْزوميَّ. روى عنه: عمرو بن دينار، وابن الجَرَّاح، ومعمر بن راشد، والثَّوري، وابن عُيَيْنة، ووُهَيْب بن خالد، ورَوْح بن القاسم، ويحيى بن أيوب. قال معمر: قال لي أيوب: إن كنت راحلًا إلى أَحَدٍ فعليك بابن طاوس. وقال معمر: ما رأيت ابن فقيه مثل ابن طاوس. فقلت له (¬٢): ولا هشام ابن عروة؟ فقال: حسبك بهشام، ولكن لم أرَ مثل هذا، وكان من أعلم الناس بالعربية، وأحسنهم خُلُقًا. وقال سفيان بن عُيَيْنة: مات سنة ثنتين وثلاثين ومئة. وقال ابن سَعْد: مات في خلافة أبي العباس. روى له الجماعة.
