[١٦٤٤] إسماعيل بن عبد الملك بن رُفَيْع ابن أخي عبد العزيز، أبو عبد الملك (¬١). وهو ابن أبي الصُّفَير المكيُّ. سمع: عطاء بن أبي رباح، وسعيد بن جُبير، وأبا جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين، وأبا الزبير المكي، وعبد الله بن أبي مليكة. روى عنه: سفيان الثَّوْريُّ، وعيسى بن يونس، ووكيع، وأبو نُعَيْم، وعبد الواحد بن زياد. قال يحيى القطان: تركتُ إسماعيل، ثم كتبت عن سفيان، عنه. وقال أبو حاتم: ليس بقويٍّ في الحديث، وليس حَدُّه الترك. قال عبد الرحمن: قلتُ: يكون مثل أشعث بن سَوَّار في الضَّعْف؟ قال: نعم. روي له: أبو داود، والترمذي، وابن ماجه.
