    [١٢٦٢] محمد بن يحيى بن قَيْس المأربي -بالراء المهملة، والباء بواحدة- أبو عمر (¬٢). سمع: أباه، وموسى بن عقبة، ومَعْمر بن راشد، وابن جريج. روى عنه: قتيبة بن سعيد، وموسى بن إسماعيل، وعبيد الله بن عمر القواريريُّ، ومحمد بن المتوكل العَسْقَلانيُّ، وخطاب بن عمر الهَمْدانيُّ الصَّنْعانيُّ، وعلي بن بَحْر بن برّي، ومحمد بن عمرو التَّنُّوري، وسُرَيْج ابن النُّعمان الجَوْهَرِيُّ، وقيس بن حفص الدَّارميُّ، وإبراهيم بن موسى، ومحمد بن مهران الجَمَّال، وأبو داود القَطّان، وإسماعيل بن عَيّاش. قال الدارقطني: هو ثقة، وأبوه كذلك. روى له: أبو داود، والترمذي.
