[٣٧٧] عَرْفَجَة بن أسعد بن كَرِب، وقيل: أسعد بن صفوان التَّيْمِي العُطاردي (¬١). وهو الذي قُطِع أنفه يوم الكُلاب، فاتخذ أنفًا من وَرِق، الحديث، والكُلاب -بضم الكاف- يوم من أيام الجاهلية. روى عنه: ابن ابنه عبد الرحمن بن طَرَفة، وروى عن عبد الرحمن: أبو الأشهب. قال أبو الأشهب: وقد رأى عبد الرحمن جده عَرْفَجَة. روى له: أبو داود، والنَّسائي، والترمذي.
