[٢٥٦] الضَّحّاك (¬٣) بن قيس بن خالد بن زهير بن ثعلبة بن وائلة بن عمرو ابن شيبان بن محارب بن فِهْر بن مالك الفِهْرِي، القُرَشِي، يُكْنَي أبا أُنيس، وقيل: أبو سعيد (¬٤). وُلد قَبْلَ وفاة رسول الله ﷺ بست سنين، أو نحوها، وهو أخو فاطمة بنت قيس، وكانت أكبر منه بعشر سنين. وقد روى عن رسول الله ﷺ. روى عنه: تميم بن طَرَفَة، ومحمد بن سُويد الفِهري، وميمون بن مهران، وسِماك بن حرب. وقُتل بمرج راهط من أرض دمشق في قتاله لمروان، وكان عاملًا لعبد الله بن الزبير. له ذكر في كتاب مسلم.وروى له النَّسائي.
