    ٩٨٥- ثور بن مالك الكنديّ- كان في عصر النبي ﷺ، وصحب معاذ بن جبل باليمن، واستخلفه على كندة لما بلغه وفاة النبي ﷺ. ذكر ذلك وثيمة في كتاب «الرّدّة» عن ابن إسحاق، وذكر له خطبة لكندة لما عزموا على الرّدة، وذكر ردّهم عليه، وما كان من أمرهم إلى أن أوقع بهم المسلمون، وهو القائل من أبيات: وقلت تحلّوا بدين الرّسول ... فقالوا التّراب سفاها بفيكا فأصبحت أبكي على هلكهم ... ولم أك فيما أتوه شريكا [المتقارب]
