    رجل كان في صحابة هشام روى عنه الزهري اخبرنا أبو القاسم بن أبي الحسن العلوي أنبأ رشأ المقرئ أنا أبو محمد المصريأنا أحمد بن مروان نا إبراهيم الحربي نا محمد بن الحارث عن المدائني قال قال صالح ابن كيسان خرج علينا الزهري من عند هشام بن عبد الملك فقال لقد تكلم اليوم رجل عند أمير المؤمنين ما سمعت كلاما أحسن منه قال له يا أمير المؤمنين اسمع مني أربع كلمات فيهن صلاح دينك وملكك وآخرتك ودنياك قال ما هن قال لا تعدن أحدا عدة وأنت لا تريد إنجازها ولا يفدنك مرتقى سهل إذا كان المنحدر وعرا وأعلم أن الاعمال آخرا فاحذر العواقب وإن الدهر تارات فكن على حذر ٩٢٠٩ -
