رجل وفد على سليمان بن عبد الملك أخبرنا أبو القاسم علي بن إبراهيم أنا رشأ بن نظيف أنبأ الحسن بن إسماعيل نا أحمد بن مروان نا الحسين بن الفهم نا محمد بن سلام الجمحي قال قدم رجل على سليمان بن عبد الملك في خلافته فقال له ما اقدمك فقال ما أقدمني عليك رغبة ولا رهبة قال وكيف ذلك قال اما الرغبة فقد وصلت إلينا وفاضت في رحالنا وتناولها الأقصى والأدنى منا وأما الرهبة فقد أمنا بعدل أمير المؤمنين فنحن وفد الشكر وسيأتي سببه بهذه القصة لشاب قدم على عمر بن عبد العزيز ٩١٥٨ -
