    يزيد بن أرطاة النخعي سمع عمر بن الخطاب واستعمله على قومه الذين وجههم إلى الشام أخبرنا أبو القاسم بن السمرقندي أنا أبو الحسين بن النقور أنا أبو طاهر المخلص أنا أحمد بن عبد الله بن سعيد نا السري بن يحيى نا شعيب بن إبراهيم نا سيف بن عمر عن المستنير بن يزيد النخعي عن إبراهيم بن يزيد النخعي قال لما أراد عمر النخع على العراق فأبوا قال يزيد بن كعب أنا لها ومن اتبعني فاتبعه تسع مائة مقاتل في سبع مائة أهل بيت منهم سبع مائة امرأة فارغة وخرج مثلهم وهو النصف الباقي إلى الشام عليهم يزيد بن أرطاة النخعي قال ونا سيف عن أبي روق عن من أدرك منهم مثله ٨٢٣٨ -
