مودود بن محمد بن مسعود أبو (٧) النيسابوري الفقيه الشافعي أخو الفقيه أبي المعالي مسعود بن محمد المعروف بالقطب كان أصغر من أخيهوتفقه بخراسان ثم لما استقر أخوه بدمشق قدم هو ووالدته عليه ثم خرج معه لما مضى إلى حلب وفوض إليه التدريس في مدرسته (١) وأقام بها مدة وقدم علينا بعد ذلك مرارا وكان متدينا (٢) ثم خرج إلى ناحية الموصل فجلس يوما على شط نهر الفرات يتوضأ فغرق ومات شهيدا وكان ذلك في (٣) سنة (٤) وخمسين وخمسمائة " ذكر من اسمه موسى " ٧٧٠٣ -
