غيلان بن أبي معشر ويقال ختن أبي معشر مولى الوليد بن عبد الملك كان صاحب حرس يزيد بن عبد الملك وكان على حرس الوليد بن يزيد وقتل مع الوليد بن يزيد في الصف له ذكر أخبرنا أبو غالب محمد بن الحسن أنبأنا أبو الحسن السيرافي أنبأنا أحمد بن إسحاق حدثنا أحمد بن عمران حدثنا موسى حدثنا خليفة قال في تسمية عمال يزيد ابن عبد الملك الحرس غيلان (٢) بن أبي معشر مولاه وقال حاتم بن مسلم وعلى الحرس أبو مالك السكسكي قال وحدثنا خليفة قال (٣) في تسمية عمال الوليد بن يزيد الحرس غيلان ختن أبي معشر " (٤)
