    عيسى الجلودي قدم دمشق في صحبة عبد الله بن طاهر لما مضى إلى مصر وعاد إلى العراق قرأت على أبي القاسم زاهر بن طاهر عن أبي بكر البيهقي أنبأنا أبو عبد الله الحافظ حدثني أبو عبد الله محمد بن أحمد بن موسى القاضي عن شيوخه قال قال المأمون لعبد الله بن طاهر منصرفه من مصر كيف حمدك أصحابك قال أما نصر بن حمزة ففارس الكتيبة إذا ركبت وحاميها إذا ولت فأما عيسى الجلودي فأسد في التراب إذا (٥) الحراب قال فأين أنت عن رجل أخرته وقد تقدم قال يا أمير المؤمنين ذاك كما قال الشاعر فتى هو أحيى من فتاة حيية * وأشجع من ليث بخفان خادر * ٥٥٣٣ -
