سليمان بن داود بن مروان بن الحكم ابن أبي العاص بن أمية بن عبد شمس الأموي كان يسكن في دير البخت (١) من أعمال دمشق وخلف على فاطمة بنت عبد الملك بن مروان بعد عمر بن عبد العزيز فولدت له هشام بن سليمان وكان سليمان أعور فقيل فيه الخلف الأعور وقيل إن الخلف الأعور هو داود يشهد له قول القائل * أبعد الأغر ابن عبد العزيز * قريع قريش إذا يذكر تبدلت داود مختاره * إلا ذلك الخلف الأعور * ٢٦٦٩ -
