ريان بن مسلم ويقال ابن مسلم (٥) الكاتب حكى عن عمر بن عبد العزيز وروى عنه ضمرة بن ربيعة ذكره أبو الحسن الرازي في ذكر أسماء كتاب أمراء دمشق وذكر أنه كان كاتبا لمعاوية بن يزيد بن معاويةأخبرنا أبو القاسم بن السمرقندي أنا أبو بكر محمد بن هبة الله أنا أبو الحسين بن الفضل أنا عبد الله بن جعفر نا يعقوب (١) نا سعيد بن أسد نا ضمرة عن الريان بن مسلم قال بعث عمر بن عبد العزيز بآل أبي عقيل أهل بيت الحجاج إلى صاحب اليمن (٢) وكتب إليه أما بعد فإني قد بعثت إليك بآل أبي عقيل وهم شر بيت في العرب ففرقهم في عملك على قدر هوانهم (٣) على الله وعلينا وعليك السلام وإنما نفاهم ٢٢١٨ -
