    ذؤالة بن الأصبغ بن ذؤالة الكلبي أحد فرسان كلب المشهورين وكان أبوه ممن قام مع يزيد بن الوليد الناقص ثم إن ذؤالة وحمزة وفرافصة بني الأصبغ خلعوا مروان بن محمد تبع جماعة من أهل الشام وساروا من تدمر إلى حمص وتحصنوا بها فأقبل إليهم مروان فحاصرهم بها حتى غلب عليها وقتل ذؤالة وصلبه على باب حمص فقال في ذلك بعض الشعراء * ألا هل أتى حسان كلب بأننا * تركنا بحمص من ذؤالة مرقبا فبدل بعد السير فيها إقامة * وبعد ركوب الخيل جذعا مشذبا * ٢١٠٢ -
