    حميدان بن حراش ويقال حمدان العقيلي ولي دمشق من قبل الملقب بالعزيز في سنة ثمان وستين وثلاثمائة بعد ظفره بهفتكين الوالي كان على دمشق للطائع لله وكان قسام إذ ذاك متغلبا على دمشق فلم يكن لحميدان مع قسام أمر ولم تطل مدته حتى وقع بينه وبين قسام فطرده العيارون من أصحاب قسام وخرج هاربا من البلد ونهبوا داره وقوي أمر قسام وولي أبو محمود المغربي بعد حميدان حدثني أبو الحسن علي بن المسلم الفقيه قال دفع إلي عمر الكتامي شيخ من جند المصريين ورقة فيها أسماء الولاة بدمشق فكان فيها ظالم بن مرهوب العقيلي والقرمطي ووشاح وحمدان (٢) وأبو محمود في هذه السنة يعني سنة ستين وثلاثمائة كذا قال ١٧٨٧ -
