الحجاج بن عبد الله الحكمي أبو الجراح بن عبد الله الدمشقي له ذكر في المغازي وولاه أخوه إمرة الجيش فغزا اللان (١) سنة ست ومائة فصالحهم وأدوا إليه الجزية واستخلفه على أرمينية حتى استشهد سنة اثنتي عشرة ومائة أخبرنا أبو غالب محمد بن الحسن أنبأنا أبو الحسن بن محمد بن علي أنبا أحمد بن إسحاق نبأنا أحمد بن عمران نبأنا موسى بن زكريا نبأنا خليفة بن خياط قال (٢) قال ابن الكلبي استشهد الجراح ومن معه بمرج أردبيل (٣) وكان قد استخلف أخاه الحجاج بن عبد الله فأتاهم الحرشي يعني سعيد بن عمرو فهزمهم الله تعالى واستنقذ ما كان في أيديهم ١٢١٠ -
