أحمد بن محمد بن محمد بن عبد الرحمن (٢) أبو الحسن المزني روى عن أبي القاسم علي بن يعقوب بن أبي العقب فوائد أبي زرعة وعن أبي الطيب أحمد ابن إبراهيم بن عبادل وسمع منه ابنه أبو علي عبد الرحمن بن أحمد بن محمد ووجدت سماع ابنه منه بخطه على نسخة كانت له بخط ابن أبي العقب سنة سبعين وثلاثمائة وسمع منه (٣) علي بن الحسن الربعي أيضا قرأت بخط عبد المنعم بن علي بن النحوي مات أحمد بن عوف في يوم الأحد لسبع وعشرين ليلة خلت من جمادى الآخرة سنة ثمان وثمانين وثلاثمائة ٢١٣ -
