    علي بن حكيم بن زاهر الخراساني، أبو الحسن السمرقندي. روى عن: وكيع، وابن عيينة، وأبي خالد الأحمر، وابن أبي فديك، وهاشم بن مخلد الثقفي، وأبي مقاتل حفص بن سلم، وعبد الله بن إدريس. روى عنه: جعفر بن محمد الفريابي، وجبهان الفرغاني، وجماعة من أهل سمرقند. قال الخطيب: كان فقيها زاهدا، ويعرف بعلي البكاء من كثرة بكائه، جاور بمكة نحوا من عشرين سنة، وكان ثقة، مات في سنة خمس وثلاثين ومائتين. قلت: وقال ابن حبان في الثقات: كان صاحب سنة وفضل قد كتب أصناف وكيع كلها عنه. • تمييز -
