ميمون بن إبراهيم أبو إسحاق البغدادي الكاتب كان على الزبد للمتوكل. حدث عن محمد بن حماد بن سعيد الكاتب قال: كنت أجالس أبا يوسف القاضي، وكان في الحلقة رجل يطيل الصمت، فجاء إلى أبي يوسف رجل فقال: ما تقول في رجل دخل إلى بيت مظلم وفيه إنسان، فخرج وسيفه مخضب دماً والرجل الذي داخل مقتول؟ فابتدره الرجل الصامت فقال: أرأيت إن كانمع الذي داخل سيف، فخرجا ورأس كل واحد منهما في يد صاحبه؟ فنظر أبو يوسف إلى أصحابه وقال: ما كان أحسن صمته لو زين بعقل.
