    عنبسة بن الأزهر، أبو يحيى، قاضي جرجان. عن أبي إسحاق، وسماك بن حرب، وعنه أحمد بن أبي طيبة. قال الدغولي: هو أحد أوعية العلم، حمل إلى المنصور فضربه به خمسين سوطا فمات بين يديه. وقيل: حدث عنه سفيان بن وكيع، فإن صح ذلك فالحكاية باطلة (¬٢). ٢٦٩ -
