الحسين بن محمد بن زياد.قال الحاكم في "المستدرك" (١/ ١٢٦/ ٢٢٢): فحدثناه الحسن بن يعقوب العدل، ثنا يحيى بن أبي طالب، ثنا عبد الوهاب بن عطاء، أبنا سعيد، قال: وثنا الحسين بن محمد بن زياد (١) ثنا هارون بن إسحاق الهمداني، ثنا عبده بن سليمان، ثنا سعيد بن أبي عروبة. قال مقيده -عفا الله عنه-: فهم شيخنا في كتاب "رجال الحاكم" أن القائل: قال وثنا الحسين هو الحاكم، وأن الحسين شيخه، ولذا ففيه (١/ ٣٣٢): "قال الحاكم ﵀ تعالي-: وثنا الحسين بن محمد بن أبي زياد ... " والصواب في ذلك أن القائل وثنا الحسين بن محمد بن زياد هو شيخ الحاكم الحسن بن يعقوب؛ كما في "إتحاف المهرة" (٢/ ٥٤١ - ٥٤٢)، والله الموفق.
