    ٢٠ - بحر بن مرار قال البخاري: قال يحيى بن القطان: رأيت بحرًا اختلط (¬١). قال النسائي: بحر بن مرار بن عبد الرحمن نكرة، تغير (¬٢). قال ابن عدي: ولبحر بن مرار هذا غير ما ذكرت من الحديث شيء يسير ولا أعرف له حديثًا منكرًا فأذكره، ولم أر أحدًا من المتقدمين ممن تكلم في الرجال ضعفه إلا يحيى القطان، ذكر أنه كان قد خُولط، ومقدار ماله من الحديث لم أر فيه حديثًا منكرًا (¬٣). قال ابن حبان: بحر بن مرار بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة اختلط بآخره حتى كان لا يدري ما يُحدّث، فاختلط حديثه الأخير بحديثه القديم ولم يتميز، تركه يحيى القطان (¬٤).
