٥١٤١ - معن بن أوس بن نصر بن زياد بن أسمح، وقيل: () (¬١) ابن أسميح ابن ربيعة بن عدي بن ثعلبة بن ذؤيب بن سعد بن عداء بن عثمان بن عمرو ابن أد بن طابخة المزني (¬٢). (فت). من مزينة. أدرك الجاهلية والإسلام، ووفد على عمر ﵁ مستعينا به، وأنشده قصيدته التي يقول فيها: تأوبه طيف بذات الجراثم ... فنام رفيقاه وليس بنائم ولزم البادية بعد ذلك ووفد على عبد الله بن الزبير وامتدح عبيد الله بن عباس وعبد الله بن جعفر وعبد الله بن جحش وعمر بن أبي سلمة. وتوفي في فتنة ابن الزبير مع مروان بن الحكم.
