    ٢٣٦٣ - سويد بن الصامت بن خالد الأوسي (¬٧). (بر مو). لقي النبي ﷺ بسوق ذي المجاز من مكة في حجة حجها سويد على ما كانوا يحجون في الجاهلية، وذلك في أول مبعث النبي ﷺ فدعاه رسول الله ﷺ إلى الإسلام فلم يرد عليه سويد شيئا ولم يظهر له قبول ما دعاه إليه وقال: لا أبعد ماجئت به، ثمانصرف إلى المدينة، فيزعم قومه أنه مات مسلما وهو شيخ كبير، قتلته الخزرج في وقعة كانت بينها وبين الأوس قبل بعاث. قال أبو عمر (¬١): أنا شاك في إسلام سويد بن الصامت كما شك فيه غيري ممن ألف في (¬٢) هذا الشأن قبلي، والله أعلم. وذكره ابن شاهين وقال: يشك في إسلامه.
