١٩٥٧ - السائب بن الأقرع (¬٢) بن جابر بن سفيان بن سالم بن مالك بن حطيط بن جشم الثقفي (¬٣). (خ خ ند نع بر). ابن عم عثمان بن أبي العاص، كوفي (¬٤). شهد فتح نهاوند مع النعمان بن مقرن، وكان عمر بعثه بكتابه إلى النعمان ثم استعمله عمر على المدائن. قال البخاري (¬٥): له صحبة أدرك النبي ﷺ ومسح رأسه. نسبه أبو إسحاق الهمداني. روى عنه أبو إسحاق وأبو عون الثقفي وغيرهما.
