ثم دخلت سنة ثمان وستين ذكر الخبر عمّا كان فيها من الأمور الجليلة فمن ذلك ما كان من ردّ عبد الله أخاه مُصعَبًا إلى العراق أميرًا، وقد ذكرْنا السبب في ردّ عبد الله أخاه مُصعبًا إلى العراق أمِيرًا بعد عزله إياه، ولما ردّه عليها أميرًا بعث مصعبٌ الحارثَ بنَ أبي ربيعة على الكُوفة أميرًا، وذلك أنه بدأ بالبصرة مَرجِعَه إلى العراق أميرًا بَعد العزل، فصار إليها.
