ثم دخلت سنة ثمان ومئة ذكر ما كان فيها من الأَحداث وفيها أيضًا غزا إبرهيم بن هشام ففتحَ أيضًا حصنًا من حصون الروم (١) وفيها وجَّه بكير بن ماهان إلى خراسان عدّة؛ فيهم عمَّار العِبَاديّ؛ فوشى بهم رجل إلى أسد بن عبد الله، فأخذ عمّارًا فقطع يديه ورجليه ونجا أصحابه، فقدموا على بكير بن ماهان فأخبروه الخبر، فكتب بذلك إلى محمد بن عليّ، فكتب إليه فيجواب الكتاب: الحمد لله الذي صدّق دعوتكم ونجّى شيعتكم (١). وفيها كان الحريق بدابق؛ فذكر محمد بن عمر أنّ عبد الله بن نافع حدّثه عن أبيه، قال: احترق المرعَى حتى احترق الدوابّ والرجال.
