    ثم دخلت سنة تسع وعشرين ذكر ما كان فيها من الأحداث المشهورة ففيها عزَل عثمان أبا موسى الأشعريّ عن البصرة، وكان عاملَه عليها ستّ سنين، وولّاها عبدَ الله بن عامر بن كُريز، وهو يومئذ ابن خمس وعشرين سنة، فقدِمها. وقد قيل: إنّ أبا موسى إنما عمِل لعثمان على البصرة ثلاث سنين (٣) (٢٦٤: ٤).
