[ابنه عبد الله ابن محمد] (٦٢٣ - ٧٠٣) ولد بدمشق يوم الاثنين ثامن عشر شوّال سنة ثلاث وعشرين وستّمائة. وسمع بحلب من ابن رواحة، وابن خليل. وبالقاهرة من أبي الحسن عليّ بن هبة الله، وابن الجبّاب. وولي ديوان الإنشاء بمصر، والوزارة بدمشق. وتوفّي بالقاهرة سنة ثلاث وسبعمائة. وصنّف أسماء الصحابة الذين في الصحيحين وترجم لهم في مجلّدين، سمعه منه الحافظ أبو محمدالدمياطي، وكتب الناس عنه.
