١٧٧٣ - أبو الطاهر المدينيّ العثمانيّ [- ٣٠٣] محمد بن أحمد بن عثمان، أبو الطاهر، ابن عبيد الله، الأمويّ، المدينيّ، ينسب إلى ولاء عثمان بن عفّان. قال ابن يونس: قدم إلى مصر، وكان يحفظ الحديث ويفهم. روى أحاديث مناكير، أراه كان اختلط، وقد كان من أهل الرحلة والطلب، لا تجوز الرواية عنه. وقال ابن عديّ: كان يغلط ويثبت عليه ولا يرجع. وقال أبو العرب محمد بن أحمد بن تميم في كتاب الضعفاء عنه: وكان من نقّاد أهل مصر. وقال ابن يونس: توفّي يوم الأحد لاثنتي عشرة خلت من ذي الحجّة سنة ثلاث وثلاثمائة.
