١٣١٥/ ٣ - أبو مذحج الزبيديّ [- ٢٥] (١) [٥٣٤ ب] حومل، أبو مذحج، الزبيديّ. دخل مصر مع عمرو بن العاص وشهد معه القتال بالإسكندريّة مع الروم سنة خمس وعشرين. فبرز بعض شجعان البطارقة فدعا إلى البراز فخرج إليه حومل فتجاولا ساعة بالرمحين ثمّ أخذا السيفين فتضاربا بهما إلى أن هجم البطريق على حومل فاحتمله من قريب وكان نحيفا، فأخذ حومل خنجرا كان معه فضرب العلج في نحره فسقط ميتا، فنزل عليه وأخذ سلبه. وحصل النصر. ورحل حومل بعد ذلك فمات بعد قليل فحمل عمرو بن العاص نعشه.
