    ١٠٢٤ - تبر الإخشيديّ [- ٣٦٠] (١) [٢٨١ ب] نافق في شعبان سنة تسع وخمسين وثلاثمائة بأسفل الأرض، فأرسل إليه جوهر القائد يستعطفه فلم يجب. فسيّر إليه عسكرا فحاربه بناحية صهرجت ونهبها ومضى منهزما إلى الشام في البحر. فأخذ بمدينة صور وحمل إلى القاهرة فدخل على فيل مع عليّ بن جعفر بن فلاح وشهر في البلد وسجن إلى صفر سنة ستّين وثلاثمائة. [و] اشتدّت المطالبة عليه بالمال وضرب بالسوط، وقبضت ودائعه، وقبض على جماعة من أصحابه وسجنوا في القيود. وفي ربيع الآخر جرح نفسه فأقام أيّاما ومات. فسلخ بعد موته وصلب عند كرسيّ الجسر (٢) خارج مصر إلى جانب من صلب من أصحابه.
