٩٩١ - بهم القائد الطولونيّ [- بعد ٢٥٦] (٢) بهم بن الحسين، أحد قوّاد أحمد بن طولون، بعثه لقتال بغا الأصغر لمّا خرج بأرض مصر فظفر به. ثمّ عقد له على جيش وضمّ إليه ابن عجيف، فخرجا إلى الصعيد يوم الخميس لتسع عشرة خلت من ربيع الأوّل سنة ستّ وخمسين ومائتين، فالتقوا بإبراهيم بن محمد الصوفيّ (٣) بناحية إخميم في ثالث ربيع الآخر، وهزموه، واحتووا على جميع ما معه، وقتلت راحلته. فبعث أحمد بن طولون إلى بهم بخلع وطوق من ذهب صامت (٤)، وأجازه إجازة عظيمة، وقاد بين يديه خيلا حسانا، فكان بهم إذا ركب في الأعياد ركب بذلك الطوق.
