    إنشاء وحدات لمياه القطيف اجتمعت لجنة لتنقية مياه المجاري بالقطيف والقرى التابعة لها ولتحسين صحة البيئة بالمنطقة الشرقية برئاسة المهندس عبد الرحمن محمَّد الشهيل مدير عام الشؤون البلدية والقروية ورئيس لجنة صحة البيئة بالمنطقة الشرقية، كما وافقت اللجنة على إنشاء وحدات لتنقية مياه المجاري في مدينة القطيف، وقد تم تزويد هذه الوحدات بوسائل ومعدات حديثة تذيب الروائح ويمتصها فور إلقائها في مياه البحر دون أن تشكل أي خطورة وذلك للمحافظة العامة.
