    محمّد بن عليّ بن أحمد الزّراتيتيّ، شمس الدّين، المقرئ، إمام الظّاهريّة البرقوقيّة. قال في «الشّذرات»: ولد سنة ٧٤٧، وعني بالقراءات، ورحل فيها إلى دمشق وحلب، وأخذ عن المشايخ، واشتهر بالدّين والخير. قال ابن حجر: سمع منّا الكثير، وسمعت منه شيئا يسيرا، ثمّ أقبل على الطّلبة بأخرة، فأخذوا عنه القراءات ولازموه، وأجاز لجماعة، وانتهت إليه الرّئاسة في الإقراء بمصر، ورحل إليه من الأقطار، ونعم الرّجل كان. توفّي بعد أن أضرّ ليلة الخميس خامس جمادى الآخرة سنة ٨٢٥.٦٤٨ -
