عمر بن محمّد بن أحمد بن عبد الهادي بن عبد الحميد، الزّين، ابن الحافظ الشّمس المقدسيّ، ثمّ الصّالحيّ، ابن أخت المسندة فاطمة بنت محمّد بن عبد الهادي.قال في «الضّوء»: ولد في ذي القعدة سنة ٧٣٧، وأحضر على زينب ابنة الكمال «مجلس الرّويانيّ» وغيره، وأسمع على أحمد بن عليّ الجزريّ وعبد الرّحيم بن أبي اليسر، وحدّث، قرأ عليه شيخنا وغيره، وذكره المقريزيّ في «عقوده». ومات بدمشق في الكائنة العظمى سنة ٨٠٣.- انتهى-. قال في «الإنباء»: وقد ناهز السّبعين. ٤٩٤ -
