عليّ بن عبيد بن داود بن أحمد بن يوسف بن مجلّي المرداويّ، ثمّ الصّالحيّ، أخو الفقيه الشّمس محمّد. قال في «الضّوء»: ولد سنة ٧٣٩، واشتغل، وسمع على أبي العبّاس أحمد بن عبد الرّحمن المرداويّ، وروى عنه، أخذ عنه شيخنا وذكره في «معجمه». وقال: إنّه كتب الخطّ الحسن وكان معتمدا في الشّهادة. توفّي في جمادى الآخرة سنة ٨٠٤ وهو في «عقود المقريزيّ». ٤٥٦ -
