داود بن أحمد بن عليّ بن أحمد بن حمزة، نجم الدّين، البقاعيّ الدّمشقيّ، ثمّ الصّالحيّ، الشّاهد.قال في «الضّوء»: ولد بعد العشرين، ثمّ بلغني أنّه حرّره سنة ٧٢٤، وسمع على الحجّار ثلاثة مجالس من «أمالي أبي جعفر بن البختريّ»، وحدّث به، قرأته عليه. مات في شعبان سنة ٨٠٣. قاله شيخنا في «معجمه»، والمقريزيّ في «عقوده». ٢٥٠ -
