أحمد بن عبد الكريم بن محمّد بن محمّد بن عبادة بن عبد الغني، الشّهاب ابن النّجم ابن الشّمس الدّمشقيّ الصّالحيّ.قال في «الضّوء»: ويعرف كسلفه ب «ابن عبادة»، وكان جدّه حنبليّا، وكذلك ولده الشّهاب، وخالفه ولداه الآخران فتحنّف والد صاحب التّرجمة، وتشفّع أخوه الأمين، ونشأ هذا حنبليّا، وولي قضاء الحنابلة بدمشق كجدّه وعمّه الشّهاب، وذلك بعد صرف البرهان بن مفلح فدام قليلا. ثمّ صرف به أيضا، وعرض له ضربان في رجليه فانقطع به مدّة، وسافر إلى مكّة فجاور بها حتّى مات في شعبان سنة ٨٩١، وكان معه ولده من ابنة الدّقاق فزوّجه ابنة خاله محمّد بن عيسى القارئ.٨١ -
