    محمد بن إسماعيل باني بتي (٠٠٠ - ١٤٠٧ هـ- ٠٠٠ - ١٩٨٧ م) شيخ القراء في باكستان. حفظ القرآن صغيرا، جمع القراءات العشر من طريق الشاطبية والدرّة والطيبة على القارئ الشيخ أبي محمد محيي الإسلام، والشيخ شير محمد شرواني. وكان كفيف البصر. هاجر إلى المدينة المنورة وجاور فيها سنين طويلة، وأصيب في آخر عمره بشلل نصفي، ومع ذلك لم يترك صلاة واحدة تفوته في الحرم النبوي الشريف. وكان يكثر من تلاوة القرآن ويحب سماعه من غيره. قال قارئ عليه: شهدت له مجلسا له قرأ فيه أحد طلابهسورة البقرة وآل عمران والنساء في جلسة واحدة. دفن بالبقيع. له مؤلفات كثيرة في القراءات العشر (٣).
