    حمد بن مزيد آل عثمان (١٣١١ - ١٤٠٧ هـ- ١٨٩٣ - ١٩٨٧ م) عالم، قاض. ولد في المجمعة بالسعودية. حفظ القرآن الكريم عن ظهر قلب. قرأ على علماء عديدين، منهم قاضي المجمعة عبد الله العنقري، وسعد بن عتيق وحمد بن فارس في الرياض. ثم عاد إلى المجمعة وجلس للتدريس، فدرّس التوحيد والتفسير والحديث والفقه وأصول هذه العلوم، ودرّس النحو والعروض. ثم تعيّن قاضيا في محكمة الرياض، وأعفي من وظيفته سنة ١٣٧٩ هـ فعاد إلى التدريس حتى وافاه أجله (١).
