يحيى بن محمد الكبسي (١٣١٢ - ١٤١٠ هـ- ١٨٩٤ - ١٩٩٠ م) العالم الجليل، المقرئ. هو يحيى بن أحمد بن محمد بن يوسف المهدي الكبسي. ولد بالروضة في اليمن، ونشأ في حجر والده، وحفظ القرآن الكريم والشاطبية والجزرية وغيرها، وقرأ بالسبع على المقرئ محمد بن أحمد زايد. وأخذ القراءات عن المقرئ علي السدمي. وروى عن جماعة. درّس بجامع الروضة، وكان خطيبا مفوها وواعظا مؤثرا، جيد الاستحضار للشواهد من القرآن والحديث وغيرها. حسن التلاوة، وله نظم في علم القراءات ومخارج الحروف. وكان ذا ديانة واستقامة (٢).
