محمد بن محمد المهيري الأصغر (١٣٣٥ - ١٤٠٤ هـ- ١٩١٦ - ١٩٨٤ م) أديب، فقيه، محرر صحفي. من أعلام مدينة صفاقس. وهو ابن الشيخ محمد بن محمد المهيري (الفقيه المفسر المتوفى ١٣٩٣ هـ). تولى التدريس بالزيتونة، ثم التحق بإدارة الشعائر الدينية في قسم مجلة الهداية، ولازم الكتابة فيها من خلال موضوعات شتى في الدراسات القرآنية والأحاديث النبوية والتشريع الإسلامي بوجه عام. كما كان عضوا في أسرة تحرير مجلة «مكارم الأخلاق» وكاتبا دائما فيها، وصدر منها سبعة عشر عددا (١٣٥٥ - ١٣٥٦ هـ). وكان له الدور الأكبر في إنشاء «جمعية الاتحاد الصفاقسي الزيتوني» وكان رئيسا لها في فترة من فترات حياته (٢).
