محمد سهيل بن عبد الفتاح الخطيب (١٣١٥ - ١٤٠٢ هـ- ١٨٩٨ - ١٩٨١ م) عالم، نسّابة. خطب في جملة مساجد في دمشق، ودرّس نيابة عن العلامة محمد هاشم رشيد الخطيب مدة طويلة في مسجد بني أمية، وحضر دروس المحدّث محمد بدر الدين الحسني مدة سنين، وكتب من إملائه عدة مجلدات خطية، وأسس نادي كشاف آل الخطيب الحسني ودرّبهم، وقام برحلات كثيرة، ونظم شجرة آل الخطيب بترتيب بديع، وكان مفتشا لمساجد دمشق (٢).
