محمد أحمد الحاج (٠٠٠ - ١٤٠٤ هـ؟ - ٠٠٠ - ١٩٨٤ م؟ ) مؤّخ، أكاديمي. من منطقة النهود شرق كردفان بالسودان. حاصل على الدكتوراه في التاريخ. عمل أستاذا للتاريخ بجامعة الخرطوم، وبجامعة نيجيريا. ومديرا لجامعة أم درمان الإسلامية بالسودان. كان مهتما في كتاباته بانتشار الإسلام في غرب إفريقيا (٢). ومن هذه المؤلفات: - من معالم تاريخ الإسلام في السودان (بالاشتراك مع يوسف فضل حسن ومحمد إبراهيم أبو سليم).- الخرطوم: دار الفكر، - ١٤٠ هـ (مجموعة مختارة من بحوث مؤتمر الإسلام في السودان لجماعة الفكر والثقافة الإسلامية الذي عقد في الخرطوم عام ١٤٠٣ هـ).
