    ماجد خيربك (١٣٣٢ - ١٤٠٩ هـ- ١٩١٣ - ١٩٨٨ م) شاعر، معلّم. ولد في قرية «سلاغو» بمحافظة اللاذقية في سورية، وارتحل إلى مزرعة «الحمي» قرب القرداحة إلى جبلة، حيث مارس التعليم في الثانوية الوحيدة فيها حينذاك حتى أحيل على التقاعد، قضى ٤٤ سنة من حياته في تدريس اللغة الفرنسية والعربية والمواد الاجتماعية أيام الانتداب الفرنسي والاستقلال وبعده، وترك آثارا أدبية مطبوعة ومخطوطة، والمخطوطة أكثر بكثير من المطبوعة. توفي في ٢٨ تشرين الأول (أكتوبر). آثاره المطبوعة: عبير عبر عبرات «ديوان شعر كبير» - الآراميون- أساطير بابل وكنعان- جذور اللغة العربية- شخصية محمد ﷺ. وهذا الكتاب الأخير مترجم عن الفرنسية (١).
