عمر إسماعيل بدران (١٣٤٥ - ١٤٠٣ هـ- ١٩٢٦ - ١٩٨٢ م) فقيه حنبلي، مشارك. ولد بدوما، ولما نشأ رحل إلىدمشق، فتلقى العلم هناك، وحفظ القرآن الكريم، وأتقن العربية. عيّن مدرسا ببلدة النشابية، ثم نقل إلى دمشق بالوظيفة نفسها. وتولى مع ذلك الخطابة والإمامة والتدريس بجامع خوبان بالسمانة منذ عام ١٣٨٧ هـ. كما درّس بالمعاهد الشرعية، وحجّ مرارا. عاش حياة متواضعة ليس فيها تكلف، وكان يعتزل الناس ويأنس مع كتبه في غرفة عالية بجامع السمانة. توفي بعد رجوعه من الحج (١).
