عبد المحسن سليمان (٠٠٠ - ١٤١٢ هـ- ٠٠٠ - ١٩٩٢ م) رائد طب العيون في مصر والعالم العربي. تولى مناصب علمية مرموقة، منها عمادة كلية الطب بجامعة عين شمس، ورئاسة مركز المكفوفين. كما كان نقيبا للأطباء، ونائبا لرئيس المؤتمر الطبي بشيكاغو لأمراض العيون، ونائبا لرئيس المنظمة العالمية لمكافحة التراخوما، وعضوا بالجمعية الأكاديمية الرمدية العالمية، وقد أسس معهد الرمد بالجيزة، وتبرع لهذا الغرض عام ١٩٦٢ م بكل ممتلكاته. ولجهوده وأبحاثه كرمته الدولة أكثر من مرة، حيث منح وسام الجمهورية، ووسام نوط الامتياز، ووسام الاستحقاق، ووسام العلوم والفنون (٣).
