عبد الله اليافي (١٣١٩ - ١٤٠٧ هـ؟ - ١٩٠١ - ١٩٨٦ م) سياسي، صحفي، أديب، محام، شاعر. عبد الله اليافي نشأ في بيروت بمنطقة «رأس النبع» وأنهى تعليمه الجامعي في عام ١٩٢١ م، ثم سافر إلى باريس وحصل على الدكتوراه عام ١٩٢٥ م من السوربون، ليكون أول رجل من بيروت يحمل هذه الشهادة في الحقوق .. في عام ١٩٣٨ م شكل أول حكومة، وكان لبنان آنذاك تحت الانتداب الفرنسي، وتوالت رئاسته للحكومات اللبنانية سبع مرات بين الأعوام ١٩٥١، ١٩٦١ م، وهو مع مسؤولياته هذه كان مشاركا في الصحف اللبنانية سياسيا، وأديبا، وكاتبا، ومحاميا (١) (وانظر المستدرك).
